In search of a beach that never existed. Kokomo Beach — the Beach Boys song surged me on my way to Florida looking for it. Painted along the way. Sun-warmed houses, a staircase leading somewhere unknown, a small church watching over the coast. All of it invented, all of it felt. Look closer — a small red thread runs through it, waiting to be found.
